Lakers' Robert Sacre: Doesn't see the court Wednesday

Sacre was unable to see any action Wednesday when the Lakers lost to Orlando 101-99. The backup center has appeared in just one game for Los Angeles this year, and it was for only four minutes. Sacre is coming off a season in 2014-15 where he was a major piece for the Lakers lineup having started 18 of the 67 games he played. However, this year he hasn't seen much of a role at all, and it's hard to tell if this is going to improve or not as he's currently behind Roy Hibbert and Tarik Black on the depth chart.

Lakers' Robert Sacre: Scores five points Monday

Sacre collected five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT) and grabbed four rebounds off the bench in Monday's win over Portland. Sacre will likely open the season as the Lakers' fourth center behind newcomers Roy Hibbert and Brandon Bass, as well as Tarik Black. While Sacre did see 16.9 minutes per game in the 2014-15 season, he'll be hard-pressed to find a similar workload this coming year. Even with considerable playing time he hasn't been much of an offensive threat in his career to this point, averaging just 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Robert Sacre's foul out triggers rare technical rule

Lakers center Robert Sacre had an interesting night Wednesday in a 119-108 win over the Cavaliers, as he continues to see a larger role thanks to injuries. Sacre scored in double figures for the second game in a row with 10 on 5 of 8 shooting, but that wasn't what made for such a peculiar performance. Sacre technically fouled out of the game with a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Lakers were out of healthy players, so he was able to stay in the game, triggering a rarely enforced rule that would have resulted in a technical foul for every foul he drew. Sacre has been pressed into a larger role this season than during his rookie year, as he has already appeared in more games (34) than a year ago. He is averaging 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
