Grizzlies' Vince Carter: Scores four points in loss

Carter scored four points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added three assists and one block across 12 minutes in Wednesday's 112-94 loss to the Thunder. After not playing in the Grizzlies' previous game Monday against the Trail Blazers, Carter reentered the rotation with the team missing Mike Conley (Achilles) for the contest and losing Courtney Lee (hip) early in the second half. The former Slam Dunk Contest winner was able to excite the Oklahoma City crowd in garbage time with a vintage throwdown, but Air Canada has been grounded more often than not the last few years. He'll likely continue to see mostly limited minutes at the end of the Grizzlies' bench throughout the season, and will do most of his damage from behind the three-point arc.

Grizzlies' Vince Carter: Matches season-high 22 minutes Tuesday

Carter contributed seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, and one assist in 22 minutes during the Grizzlies' 125-88 loss versus the Thunder on Tuesday. After appearing in only one of the first 12 games this season, Carter has now gotten on the court in all 10 contests since. He is averaging 14 minutes per game during that span, and Grizzlies' coach Dave Joerger is clearly trying to revive the soon-to-be 39-year-old veteran. The only problem is Carter has made only 8-of-27 attempts from three-point-land this season, and if he doesn't start sinking those shots at a higher rate, there isn't much else he does at this stage in his career to justify giving him much playing time.

Grizzlies' Vince Carter: Becoming part of rotation again

Carter played 11 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's win over the Mavericks, scoring three points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go with two rebounds. After mostly going unused off the bench in the Grizzlies' first 12 games of the season, Carter has seen double-digit minutes in each of the last three contests. The veteran wing is able to offer a more reliable three-point stroke than the likes of Tony Allen and -- at least for now -- the struggling Courtney Lee (20.5 percent mark from downtown on the season), so Carter could continue to see some light run off the bench as the Grizzlies aim to stretch the floor a bit more.

Grizzlies veteran Vince Carter likely to see role diminished

Grizzlies swingman Vince Carter has appeared in four preseason contests and is averaging 3.3 points on 29.4 percent shooting in 13.3 minutes per game. Carter saw his minutes (16.5 per game) and scoring (5.8 points per game) dip to career-low levels a season ago, and there's little reason to think either of those numbers will be on the upswing in 2015-16. The former All-Star will likely struggle to hang on to a rotation role in Memphis this season, making him a virtual non-entity for Fantasy purposes.
