Warriors' Chris Babb: Waived by Warriors

Babb was waived by the Warriors on Friday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo reports. Babb came to Golden State in the David Lee trade earlier this offseason, but was never really expected to be a contributor in the upcoming season. He's failed to play in a regular season game since the 2013-14 season, so it looks like that may remain the case for the foreseeable future. If he can't find another team to pick him up before the regular season begins on Wednesday, Babb will likely either head overseas or join an NBA D-League roster for the time being.

Warriors, Celtics make Lee-for-Wallace swap official

What was long reported became official Monday, as the Warriors finalized a deal with the Celtics to send center David Lee to Boston in exchange for forward Gerald Wallace and guard Chris Babb. The trade was first reported on July 7, but the Celtics needed to make various roster moves in order to facilitate the trade. "On behalf of the entire Golden State Warriors organization, we thank David Lee for his contributions both on and off the court over the last five years," Warriors GM Bob Myers said. Lee averaged 7.9 points and 5.2 rebounds last season in a reduced role, while Wallace was a non-factor for the Celtics, scoring just 1.1 points in nine minutes.
