    Fresh off a brief stint in the NBA Development League, Thunder forward Mitch McGary took advantage of increased minutes and recorded his first double-double of his career during Sunday's 131-108 victory over the Clippers. With center Kendrick Perkins suspended for the game and center Steven Adams leaving the game with a hand injury, McGary played the most minutes of his career and scored 19 points on 8 of 9 shooting from the field. He also added one steal and 10 rebounds over 23 minutes. "When my name's called, I have to step up," McGary said, per the team.     The Oklahoma City Thunder are sending rookie center Mitch McGary to their D-League affiliate, according to a report from The Oklahoman. This isn't necessarily seen as a demotion as McGary, taken in the first round out of Michigan in the 2014 draft, as he has only logged an average of four minutes per game due to the depth of the Oklahoma City frontcourt. The Thunder's D-League affiliate is the nearby Oklahoma City Blue, where McGary could receive more playing time to hone his skills as an NBA big man. McGary declared for the 2014 NBA draft following a sophomore season at Michigan where he was unable to play much due to a back injury. With the possibility of returning for his junior season, McGary was notified he failed an NCAA drug test for marijuana, which would have banned him for the 2014-15 season.
