Impending free agent Matt Bonner seeking to stay with Spurs

It makes sense that the Spurs and their fans are most concerned about the futures of stars Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, both of whom are contemplating retirement. But fellow veteran Matt Bonner is also entering the unknown. Bonner has been with the team longer than any player outside of those two and Tony Parker. He will become a free agent July 1, but is hoping to return. "I love playing for the Spurs," he told the San Antonio Express-News. I love everything about the organization and everybody in the organization - players, coaches, staff members. I hope they will all be back next year. The 34-year-old Bonner is coming off a relatively injury-free season in which he averaged 3.7 points in 13 minutes per game.
