Spurs' David West: Will start again Monday versus Suns

West will start Monday versus the Suns, Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express-News reports. This will be the second consecutive start for West, who is filling in for the injured LaMarcus Aldridge. He put up eight points, five rebounds, one assist, and one block in 25 minutes in his previous start Saturday. Expect a similar workload for the veteran again.

Spurs' David West: Will start Saturday

West is starting in Saturday's game, Ronald Tillery of The Commerical Appeal reports. With LaMarcus Alridge ruled out of Saturday's game due to an ankle injury, West will get the start at power forward in his place. The 35-year-old is averaging 5.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 14.6 minutes per game.

Spurs' David West: Remains Quiet Monday

West accumulated two points along with two rebounds and three assists in the Spurs' 94-84 win over the Knicks on Monday. The veteran power forward has participated in all of the Spurs match-ups so far this season, but he has seen less minutes each game. West is struggling to fit in to the Spurs' system early and his numbers are well below his career marks. He has shot the ball well (53.8 percent) but just far fewer times than he normally does. At this point he is averaging 12.0 points and 4.8 rebounds less per game than his 12-year career average. However, it's hard to imagine that this will be the West we see for 82 games.

Spurs PF David West has active preseason

Spurs veteran power forward David West averaged 5.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 blocks in five games played this preseason. West should add a nice piece to the well-oiled offensive machine. He is a proven scorer in the league and, when he gets minutes, he is likely to contribute. It remains to be seen how much he plays.

Spurs' David West: Starts in Thursday's exhibition

West put up five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists, and a steal in 22 minutes during Thursday's exhibition loss to the Kings. West entered the starting lineup for Thursday's game, but only because Tim Duncan was receiving the night off for rest. Coach Gregg Popovich figures to rest Duncan liberally throughout the season, particularly during back-to-back sets, but unless he misses significant time with an injury, it's difficult to see West returning an abundance of fantasy value on a game-by-game basis. Instead, West's intrigue primarily lies in daily leagues, where fantasy players can take advantage of his expected low price and utilize him in instances where he's in the starting lineup in place of Duncan.

Report: PF David West signs with Spurs for veteran minimum

The Spurs continued to bolster their frontcourt Monday by signing veteran forward David West, league sources have told TNT, which is further reporting that it's for the veteran minimum. The 34-year-old West, who will now make just $1.4 million next season, sought to play for a title contender. West scored just 11.7 points per game and shot 47.2 percent from the field last year for Indiana. Both represent his worst numbers since his second season in the NBA.

Report: Cavaliers have serious interest in PF David West

The Cavaliers have thrown their hat in the ring as a contender to land veteran free agent forward David West, according to the Indianapolis Star, which is claiming they have huge interest. It would remain to be seen where West would fit in, particularly if Tristan Thompson re-signs with Cleveland. Fellow power forward Kevin Love has already done so and Anderson Varejao, who can also play that position, should be healthy to start next season. West, who would like to finish his career playing for a potential NBA champion, continued to fade last year. His 11.7-per-game averaged was his lowest since 2005.

Report: Wizards seeking to land free agent PF David West

The Wizards can be added to the list of teams strongly pursuing veteran power forward David West, sources have told ESPN. West had been reportedly most interested in San Antonio and Golden State. He expressed a desire to land with a winning team and Washington also fits that description, though not to the extent of the Spurs and Warriors. The 34-year-old West has clearly begun his career descent. He averaged just 11.7 points per game for Indiana last season, his lowest total in 10 years.

PF David West targeting Spurs, Warriors

Free-agent forward David West said he is ready to play for a championship contender, and with that in mind, he is leaning toward signing with either the Spurs or Warriors, per USA Today. West, who declined a $12.2 million option with the Pacers, likely will take less money for a chance to win a title. He would make the veteran's mininum if he signed with Golden State and take a pay cut to join San Antonio. "At this point in my career, it's all about winning," West said in an interview with WTHR. "And again, I don't want to be in a position where we're just fighting to make the playoffs, I want to be in a spot where we can legitimately taste the finals."
