Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Doesn't take a shot in Saturday's loss

Allen didn't take a shot and was held scoreless against the Mavericks Saturday night. He also contributed four rebounds and a steal in his 17 minutes on the floor. After posting solid scoring and rebounding averages in January, Allen has failed to reach double-digit points or collect more than seven rebounds so far this month. Even more troubling is the fact that he played just 17 minutes after playing just 18 minutes the night before. Allen isn't consistent enough in any category to warrant a roster spot in most leagues.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Pitches in with 13 points in Thursday victory

Allen pitched in 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds and a block over 28 minutes in Thursday's 103-83 victory over the Bucks. The veteran appears to be fully recovered from his nagging knee and hamstring ailments, managing his first double-digit point total since Jan. 12 versus the Rockets. The scoring haul followed four straight single-digit scoring performances, while the seven boards brought Allen's two-game total to an impressive 19 in that category. With his health restored for the time being, the 12-year veteran will look to close out a successful month of January in which he's brought both his scoring (9.8) and rebound (7.5) averages significantly up from his December totals in those categories.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Falls one point shy of double-double Monday

Allen (knee, hamstring) contributed nine points (4-9 FG, 1-3 FT), 12 rebounds, four steals, and one assist in 40 minutes during the Grizzlies' 108-102 overtime win against the Magic on Monday. After missing the last two contests, Allen was able to return to action on Monday. His 40 minutes and 12 rebounds were both season-highs, and his four steals matched a season-high as well. Allen is averaging 32 minutes per game in January after seeing between 20-25 minutes per game in each month prior this season, and it has resulted in more production. However, Allen is best reserved for use in deeper leagues at this point in his career.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Will start Monday

Allen (knee, hamstring) will start Monday versus the Magic, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports. After missing the previous two contests, Allen will return to action Monday in the starting lineup. Given his absence was relatively shorts, and that he is back in the starting lineup, expect him to take on his usual workload. Matt Barnes has been relegated to a reserve role with Allen's return.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Will play Monday

Allen (knee, hamstring) will play in Monday's game against the Magic. Allen was listed as probable after missing the past two games, but he'll return to action Monday. It's unlikely that he's limited in his return and he'll likely see a normal minutes load. If he is limited at all look for Matt Barnes to see some extra time.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Listed as probable for Monday's game

Allen (knee, hamstring) is now being listed as probable for Monday's game against the Magic, Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. Allen was previously labeled as a game-time decision following Monday's morning shootaround, but the Grizzlies now seem to have more optimism about the swingman's availability for the contest. Though Allen had been starting at small forward prior to missing two games with the injuries, it's unclear if Allen will displace Matt Barnes from the lineup if he's ultimately cleared to play.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Game time decision for Monday game

Allen (knee) participated in shootaround Monday and will be a game time decision for Monday's game against Magic, Rob Fischer, sideline reporter of the Memphis Grizzlies reports. Allen has missed one game due to soreness in his knee and additional hamstring concerns. Matt Barnes has been starting in Allen's absence, but should Allen return, Barnes would go back to a bench role. It appears likely that Allen's injury isn't super serious and that he could suit up tonight against the Magic.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Will try to play Saturday

Allen (knee) will try to play Saturday against Minnesota, Ronald Tillery of The Commercial Appeal reports. Allen has been slowed by knee and hamstring issues of late and missed Thursday's game against Denver, but it appears that he'll try to play through the ailments Saturday against the Timberwolves. Matt Barnes played 36 minutes at small forward in Allen's absence Thursday and could be in line for another start if Allen is ruled out.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Questionable to play Saturday

Allen (kene) is questionable to play Saturday in Minnesota, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports. Allen missed the Grizzlies' previous game on Thursday versus Denver, and will likely be a game-time decision in Minnesota Saturday due to knee soreness.
