Rockets utilizing forward Trevor Ariza's versatility

Rockets coach Kevin McHale knows he can count on forward Trevor Ariza at the end of the game. So much so, he has Ariza covering the opposing team's top scorer at the end of games a lot of the time, reports the Houston Chronicle. "He can guard anyone for us and he has done that all year," McHale said. "He is one of those guys who has stepped up and played defense his whole life, like the last play against the Clippers we said 'Trevor, you have Chris Paul. They are probably going to clear it out. It's going to be you and him. They have the right side cleared, get a stop.'" McHale credits Ariza's toughness to why he's been so successful on defense. "I am sure his high school coach looked at him and said, 'I need a stop from you, bud.' Same when he played at UCLA. Those guys bring that with them. He has been accountable defensively. He takes challenges to guard anybody for us. Those are the guys you like. If you never guard anyone your whole life, you aren't just going to start guarding them at 25. Believe me, he brought that toughness with him. He has been great."
