Pacers' Ian Mahinmi: Plays 20 minutes in return

Mahinmi (back) played 20 minutes in Saturday's 112-104 triumph over the Pistons, finishing with four points (1-2 FG, 2-4 FT) and three rebounds. Making his return from a four-game absence, Mahinmi faced no restrictions in Saturday's tilt while taking back his spot in the starting lineup, but still saw fewer playing time and was outproduced by Jordan Hill (12 points, eight boards, four steals), who had been the primary replacement for Mahinmi. While Hill brings a more polished offensive skill set to the table, Mahinmi is the superior interior defender, an attribute that should enable him to stick in a starting role. Even so, it's possible that Hill's improved play of late could prompt coach Frank Vogel to divvy up the minutes in a fairly even fashion between Mahinmi and Hill in the games to come.

Pacers' Ian Mahinmi: Will start Saturday

Mahinmi (back) will start Saturday's game against the Pistons. He missed four games with the back ailment, but with Andre Drummond on the docket Saturday night, Mahinmi will return at the perfect time, and without a minutes cap. Look for Jordan Hill, Myles Turner and Lavoy Allen to all see fewer minutes as a result.

Pacers' Ian Mahinmi: Questionable to play Saturday

Mahinmi (back) is questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Pistons. Mahinmi has missed the previous four games due to soreness in his back. His upgrade to questionable is certainly a good sign, but no guarantee that he will be able to suit up come game-time. When he does return it is unclear if he will resume taking on us usual workload due to how well Myles Turner and Jordan Hill have played in his absence. Indiana's frontcourt situation will need to be something to monitor. Expect an update on Mahinmi's status closer to tip-off.

Pacers' Ian Mahinmi: Out against Hawks on Friday

Mahinmi (back) remained in Indiana Thursday, and will be out for Friday's game against the Hawks, Candace Buckner of the Indy Star reports. This would be Mahinmi's fourth missed game in a row. With Mahinmi out, look for Jordan Hill to pick up the start in Mahinmi's place. This would give Hill attractive DFS league value for a low price.

Pacers' Ian Mahinmi: Returns with double-double in Tuesday's loss

Mahinmi (ankle) scored 12 points (4-7 FG, 4-10 FT) with 10 rebounds and two steals during 29 minutes in Tuesday's 91-89 loss to the Clippers. After missing three of the past four games, Mahinmi returned to the starting lineup with a solid performance Tuesday. He could have done more with it if it weren't for his poor free-throw shooting, but we'll take the double-double considering his health. Mahinmi is worth checking the waiver wire for as he was likely dropped after missing a couple games prior.
