49ers' Carlos Hyde: 'A stretch to play' Sunday

Head coach Chip Kelly said Wednesday that Hyde (shoulder), who won't practice Wednesday, "would be a stretch to play" Sunday against the Buccaneers, Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Hyde missed one series this past Sunday due to a shoulder injury, yet he finished the contest, totaling 14 carries for 52 yards. In the meantime, he's been spotted with a sling on his right arm, placing a cloud over his upcoming availability. Kelly termed the injury a "day-to-day" thing, so his practice participation will be one to watch as the weekend approaches. If he's unable to go in Week 7, Mike Davis will likely head the 49ers' backfield with Shaun Draughn and potentially DuJuan Harris in reserve.
