Ward (quadriceps) was ruled week-to-week Tuesday.
Ward suffered a quad strain in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks and will leave the 49ers' secondary extra thin if he is held out for a couple weeks. Keith Reaser is expected to start in his absence, as he filled in at cornerback Sunday.
