Booker is solidifying his role as C.J. Anderson's primary backup and is also working some with the Broncos' first-team offense, 9 News Denver reports.

Klis reiterates what was reported back in April: that the Broncos liked Booker so much, they were tempted to draft him in the first round this year. The downhill rusher instead slipped to the fourth round due to an injured knee. Now healthy, Booker could be in line for a complementary role in 2016 with a chance at starting by 2017. Anderson's new contract is extremely front-loaded and last year's starter, Ronnie Hillman, is back on a modest one-year deal -- potentially paving the way for Booker.
