Shorts received the start in Sunday's 34-17 victory over the 49ers but saw zero targets on 31 snaps, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The veteran receiver's complete absence from the box score was the biggest surprise to come out of Sunday's victory, given Shorts' experience and solid resume as both an inside and outside receiver. It was surprisingly special teams captain Russell Shepard, he of three career receptions heading into the Week 7 contest, that filled the void created by Vincent Jackson's (knee) absence, converting six targets into five catches for 77 yards and his first career touchdown. However, considering Shorts' previous body of work, it's safe to consider Sunday's result an outlier, one that the veteran wideout is likely to start putting behind him in a Week 8 matchup against a beatable Raiders secondary.
