Dye secured one of five targets for 44 yards in Thursday's 31-23 loss to the Rams. He also fumbled once but it was recovered.

The rookie wideout got the starting nod in place of Vincent Jackson (knee), although Jameis Winston predictably targeted the reliable Adam Humphries on one more occasion than Dye. The Heidelberg University product continued to display concentration issues, suffering through some drops and also nearly fumbling the ball away after a career-high 44-yard reception early in the fourth quarter. Dye made an impressive catch inside the five-yard line but then held up the ball in celebration after failing to realize he'd yet to be touched down by any Rams defender. Although teammate Luke Stocker alertly fell on the ball after St. Louis' James Laurinaitis knocked it out of Dye's hands, it was another case of the Division III-rookie struggling to grasp some of the nuances of the NFL game. Despite the errors, Dye's big-play ability should keep him in Jameis Winston's crosshairs any time he takes the field, and particuarly if Jackson also misses the Week 16 tilt against the beatable Bears secondary.
