Dye (hamstring) was promoted to the Buccaneers' active roster Wednesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Dye will take the roster spot of Vincent Jackson (knee), who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Dye does not figure to jump right into a prominent role, but he did play in 10 games for Tampa Bay last year. Furthermore, the rest of the healthy receivers on the roster not named Mike Evans totaled just two receptions over the last two games, so Dye has a chance to make a move up the depth chart.
