Chiefs' Alex Smith: Manages team to win over Broncos
Smith completed 26 of 44 pass attempts for 220 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Broncos.
Smith was limited to mostly quick passes against a relentless Broncos pass rush and finished with an underwhelming average of just five yards per attempt. He did manage to protect the ball in the face of all the pressure and came through with a three-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill before converting a two-point try to force overtime. Smith remains something of a game manager, rather than a player who is tasked with making things happen on offense, and expectations should be tempered even against a generous Falcons defense next week.
