Chiefs' Jamaal Charles: May not be ready by Week 1

Charles (knee) may not be ready to play Week 1 and the Chiefs are preparing for a running back-by-committee approach in case, according to head coach Andy Reid, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

While Charles hasn't suffered any setbacks in his recovery from an ACL injury, recent reports have been that he's behind schedule. Reid's comments would appear to indicate he may be even more behind schedule than previously thought as he may now not even play Week 1. As a result, expect Spencer Ware and, to a lesser extent, Charcandrick West to get more playing time in Week 1 and potentially beyond.
