Smith was elevated to the Colts' 53-man roster from the practice squad.
He takes the place of Quan Bray, who was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Smith may not get many snaps on offense, but he'll provide needed depth with Donte Moncrief (shoulder), Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) and Dwayne Allen (ankle) all injured.
