Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr broke a bone in his right hand during Thursday's practice, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Carr will have surgery to repair the fracture on Monday, and his timetable for a return is still unknown.

“He’s going to be out for a little bit here,’’ head coach Jason Garrett said. “We don’t think it’s serious. It’s a similar injury to what DeMarco Murray had last year when he played in the game, four or five days later.

“The biggest thing with this is getting the surgery done correctly, which we’re confident is going to happen, and then handling the incision and see what he’s capable of doing.’’
