Johnson inked a three-year, $21 million contract to remain with the Chiefs on Wednesday, ESPN's Ed Werder reports.

Re-signing Johnson was likely one of the Chiefs' top priorities heading into free agency, as Kansas City lacks depth at inside linebacker, and will benefit from the consistent production Johnson brings to the table. The former first-round pick finished the 2015 regular season with 116 tackles (95 solo), four sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles, making him a valuable commodity in IDP leagues.
