Eagles' Darren Sproles: Starting for Mathews

Sproles (rib) will start at running back Monday versus the Packers, Geoff Mosher of 97.5 The Fanatic Philadelphia reports.

At various points this season, Sproles has been the Eagles' lead back, so he isn't unaccustomed to such a role. With Ryan Mathews (MCL) sidelined, Sproles has a better chance to receive significant work than normal, but head coach Doug Pederson isn't opposed to getting all his healthy RBs in the act. Therefore, both Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner should augment Sproles' workload, at the very least.
