Vikings safety Harrison Smith underwent surgery on his left hand this offseason, but he is expecting to be ready for the 2015 season, reports the Star Tribune. Smith was seen with a wrap on his hand to keep fingers from moving.
"Just a little fix-up from the season," Smith said. "It was a minor surgery. Nothing major, so this will be off in a couple of days."
Smith is entering the final season of his rookie contract, set to make roughly $1.4 million in base salary, but is hoping to remain in Minnesota.
"That’s all I've thought of doing," Smith said. "I have no intentions of going anywhere else. I'll just let [my agency] handle it. I’m just here to play football and we’ll see what happens."
