Jets' Geno Smith: Torn ACL confirmed

Smith's torn ACL has been confirmed by head coach Todd Bowles, and he will miss the remainder of this season.

Smith's season frustratingly ends just after he was given his first start of the campaign Sunday. Furthermore, he'll now enter free agency this offseason coming off a serious knee injury, which could impact his availability for the start of next season. In Smith's absence, Ryan Fitzpatrick will reclaim the Jets' starting quarterback job, with Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg set to compete for backup duties.
