Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz (calf) won't play Sunday against the 49ers, but he is aiming to return Week 6 against the Eagles, the New York Daily News reports.

Cruz is slated for an examination with team doctors Monday, which is 10 days removed from receiving a PRP injection in his left calf. After he meets with the doctors, he'll adjust his timetable for a return to running, according to The Record.

With a Monday night contest in Week 6, Cruz will have an extra day to prove the health of the calf. However, next Thursday's practice will ultimately set the groundwork for the potential to make his season debut.
