Packers cornerback Demetri Goodson is ready to seize a starting opportunity after the departure of Davon House and Tramon Williams this offseason, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

"I've been waiting for this opportunity," Goodson said. "Last year was cool getting my feet wet, but it sucked not being able to play in those big games. I want to play in the big games, I want to make the big plays. So now, I have the opportunity to do it. I'm going to do everything I possibly can to be a starter on this team."

Goodson played zero defensive snaps last season but made six special-teams tackles in six games.

"I got better through the season," he said. "Coaches started to trust me a lot more and, truthfully, if they would have put me in last year, I would have balled out....It's definitely going to be a shot for me to start. I've been grinding, man. Grinding hard."
