Packers' Eddie Lacy: Expected to be out several weeks

Lacy (ankle) is expected to be unavailable for several weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Lacy will consult Dr. Robert Anderson for a second opinion in the near future, but reports suspect that the injury is more than just a sprained ankle, making this an ailment of greater significance than originally anticipated. With fellow running back James Starks expected to be out for four weeks, the rushing load will rest on the shoulders of newly signed Knile Davis as well as wide receiver Ty Montgomery, who carried three times for six yards in Week 6 and stands to see an expanded role in the backfield with the Packers spread so thin at running back. Green Bay also has the option of promoting 2016 undrafted free agent Don Jackson from the practice squad to the active roster if need be.
