Montgomery and Don Jackson saw action at the running back position with the first-team offense during Tuesday's practice, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Top running back Eddie Lacy (ankle) is not practicing this week, forcing the Packers to turn elsewhere in the starting backfield. Montgomery could play some out of the backfield after doing so in Week 6, but it seems unlikely he would be the top option in the running game given that he is not a true running back. Just who handles that task in Week 7 is unclear, however, as among the other options, Lacy has not been ruled out just yet, Jackson resides on the practice squad, and the only other healthy running back -- Knile Davis -- just joined the team earlier this week.
