Hightower (knee) is unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.
Hightower missed a third consecutive practice Friday, leaving him as a long shot to suit up Sunday against Miami. His official status will be available Friday afternoon, when the Patriots release their final injury report. Rookie sixth-rounder Elandon Roberts is next up on the depth chart at middle linebacker, but he wouldn't necessarily have a three-down role in the event of a Hightower absence.
