In the wake of Dion Lewis' season-ending knee injury, White is viewed by ESPN's Mike Reiss as "the top candidate" to see his role in the Patriots' offense expand.

Specifically, look for White -- who was a healthy scratch in Week 9 -- to absorb a large chunk of "passing back" role in the Patriots' offense that Lewis had handled so adeptly. It's a role he filled in Week 7 when Lewis was last sidelined. Meanwhile, LeGarrette Blount will continue to handle the heavy lifting in the Patriots' backfield, with the versatile Brandon Bolden also on hand to serve in a complementary role in the offense, in addition to serving as a key special-teamer.
