Playing the Waiver Wire for Week 10
Nick Foles disappointed after a breakout performance earlier this season, so what might be different this time around? Our Jamey Eisenberg helps you prioritize your waiver claims.
So Nick Foles just made himself a top priority for Fantasy owners off the waiver wire for the second time this season after his performance in Week 9 at Oakland. We hope this encore is better than the last one.
In Week 6, Foles lit up Tampa Bay for 35 Fantasy points, but he followed it up in Week 7 with five points against Dallas. Foles saw his ownership on CBSSports.com spike from 28 percent in Week 6 to 84 percent in Week 7 (64 percent started).
As of Tuesday, Foles is owned in 40 percent of leagues, but he's about to be on the rise again after he had 59 Fantasy points against the Raiders. And this time we don't expect him to falter at Green Bay in Week 10 since the Packers struggled with Josh McCown (24 Fantasy points) on Monday night.

Fantasy owners in every league need a quarterback with Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) hurt and Tom Brady on a bye. And Foles should do well not only against Green Bay, but he also faces Washington at home in Week 11 before a bye in Week 12.
We'll find out if Michael Vick (hamstring) will get his job back by then, but we'd expect Chip Kelly to stick with Foles if he continues to play well. He is worth adding and potentially starting in all leagues for Week 10, and you should spend at least 25 percent of your FAAB money on Foles if you need a quarterback.
Some other free agents currently being scouted in CBSSports.com Fantasy leagues include Green Bay running back James Starks (69 percent), New England receiver Aaron Dobson (45 percent), Philadelphia receiver Riley Cooper (22 percent), Houston quarterback Case Keenum (18 percent) and Oakland running back Rashad Jennings (12 percent).
Starks scored for the second consecutive game against the Bears on Monday night and could be a flex option in deeper leagues and is also the handcuff for Eddie Lacy . Dobson scored two touchdowns against the Steelers on Sunday and now has three touchdowns in his past two games. Cooper has developed a great rapport with Foles and scored three times against the Raiders. Keenum looks like the Texans' starter for the rest of the season after he had 34 Fantasy points against the Colts. And Jennings could start in Week 10 at the Giants for the injured Darren McFadden (hamstring).
In terms of the free agents available, I would prioritize them in this order by position: Foles and Ben Roethlisberger (67 percent) at quarterback, Andre Brown , (65 percent), Mike James (76 percent), Chris Ivory (68 percent) and Starks at running back, Cooper, Mike Brown (22 percent), Dobson and Lance Moore (49 percent) at receiver and Timothy Wright (34 percent) at tight end.
Editor's note: Must add is for players worth adding in all leagues. Maybe add is for players worth adding in 14-team leagues or larger. Desperation add is for players worth adding only if you're, well, desperate. The ownership percentage listed is how many leagues that player was owned in the previous week for CBSSports.com.
Steelers (67 percent),
, Eagles (40
Maybe add: Josh McCown , Bears (32 percent), Jason Campbell , Browns (19 percent), Case Keenum , Texans (18 percent), Mike Glennon , Buccaneers (14 percent)
Desperation add: EJ Manuel , Bills (13 percent), Christian Ponder , Vikings (9 percent), Seneca Wallace , Packers (0 percent)
The order for quarterbacks to add this week is Foles, Roethlisberger, Cutler, Keenum, McCown, Glennon and Campbell. ... Foles gets a Packers defense on a short week, and Green Bay has allowed four quarterbacks to score at least 23 points, including McCown on Monday night. ... Roethlisberger was overshadowed in Week 9 by Foles and Tom Brady , but Roethlisberger also had his best game of the season with 34 Fantasy points against the Patriots. He picked the right time to have a good game heading into a matchup with the Bills in Week 10. Buffalo has allowed six quarterbacks to score at least 19 Fantasy points this season. ... Keenum did something Matt Schaub (ankle) hasn't done all season, which was get Andre Johnson in the end zone, and that happened three times against the Colts in Week 9. The matchup at Arizona isn't ideal, but Keenum is a gamer and worth starting in two-quarterback leagues. ... If Cutler (groin) returns in Week 10 he would be a potential starter for Fantasy owners this week against the Lions, so keep an eye on what develops. But if McCown starts he also could take advantage of this favorable matchup. Detroit has allowed three quarterbacks in a row to score at least 20 points, and McCown looked great against the Packers. ... Glennon has a tough matchup against Miami in Week 10, but he's scored at least 19 Fantasy points in three of his past four games with only one interception over that span. He's worth a look in two-quarterback formats. ... Campbell is on a bye in Week 10, but he's proven his worth in two games with 54 Fantasy points at Kansas City and vs. Baltimore. If you can stash Campbell in a two-quarterback league it should be worth it.

Maybe add: Montee Ball , Broncos (39 percent), Shonn Greene , Titans (21 percent), Rashad Jennings , Raiders (12 percent)
Desperation add: Brian Leonard , Buccaneers (3 percent), Darrel Young , Redskins (0 percent), Dennis Johnson , Texans (0 percent)
The order for running backs to add this week is Brown, James, Ivory, Starks, Greene, Ball and Jennings. ... Brown (leg) is expected to make his season debut for the Giants in Week 10, and he has a favorable matchup against the Raiders, who have allowed seven touchdowns to running backs this season. Brown scored eight touchdowns in 10 games last season, and he should be the Giants' starter the rest of the year. ... James was impressive at Seattle with 28 carries for 158 yards and a 2-yard passing touchdown, and he faces a Miami defense in Week 10 that has allowed seven running backs to score double digits in Fantasy points. James will remain Fantasy relevant as long as Doug Martin (shoulder) is out. ... Ivory had his best game of the season against his former team in the Saints in Week 9 with 18 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown. The Jets are on a bye in Week 10, but Ivory should play well again in Week 11 against Buffalo. ... Starks has scored in consecutive games, and he's doing a nice job working in tandem with Lacy. The Packers could rely more on Lacy and Starks with Rodgers hurt. ... The Titans showed they could be dominant running the ball against the Rams as Chris Johnson had 23 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and Greene had nine carries for 38 yards and a touchdown. He also added one catch for 28 yards, and Greene could reach double digits in Fantasy points again in Week 10 against Jacksonville. ... Ball is now the backup to Knowshon Moreno in Denver, and he scored in his last game in Week 8 against Washington. He could be a flex option in Week 10 at San Diego, but his real value lies if Moreno gets hurt. He's worth speculating on in all leagues. ... Jennings was awesome filling in for McFadden in Week 9 against the Eagles with 15 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown and seven catches for 74 yards. But he will struggle this week against the Giants, who have limited Adrian Peterson and LeSean McCoy to 76 rushing yards combined in the past two games. Still, as a starting running back, he could be used as a flex option if you just lost McFadden. ... Ignore Young even with his three touchdowns against the Chargers. He had one Fantasy point coming into Week 9 and don't expect him to become a scoring fullback like Mike Tolbert .

Maybe add: Eddie Royal , Chargers (68 percent), Marlon Brown , Ravens (34 percent), Michael Crabtree , 49ers (30 percent), Doug Baldwin , Seahawks (12 percent), Mario Manningham , 49ers (8 percent), Jerricho Cotchery , Steelers (7 percent), Robert Meachem , Saints (1 percent)
Desperation add: Rod Streater , Raiders (13 percent), Greg Little , Browns (6 percent), Davone Bess , Browns (3 percent), Marquise Goodwin , Bills (1 percent), Jermaine Kearse , Seahawks (1 percent), Tiquan Underwood , Buccaneers (1 percent), Dwayne Harris , Cowboys (0 percent)
The order for wide receivers to add this week is Cooper, Mike Brown , Dobson, Moore, Marlon Brown , Crabtree, Baldwin, Meachem, Manningham, Royal and Cotchery. ... In the three games Foles has started this season, Cooper has 58 Fantasy points with four touchdowns and at least 88 receiving yards in each outing. The Packers have allowed nine touchdowns to opposing receivers this year. ... Mike Brown will start in place of the suspended Justin Blackmon , and Brown was playing well even with Blackmon on the field. In his past two games before the Week 9 bye, he had eight catches for 163 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. He has a tough matchup in Week 10 at Tennessee, but he's worth stashing in all leagues. ... Dobson has become the outside receiver of choice for Brady, especially the past two games. He has three touchdowns against Miami and Pittsburgh with nine catches for 190 yards on 14 targets. The Patriots have a bye in Week 10, but Dobson is the newest toy in New England and worth adding in all leagues. ... Moore wasn't the best receiver for the Saints in Week 9 at the Jets with Marques Colston (knee) out, but he did have the most targets with 10. He finished with six catches for 70 yards, and his best production is still in front of him. You can also take a flier on Meachem in deeper leagues since he had four catches for 93 yards on five targets, and his playing time will increase with Colston out. ... Marlon Brown abused the Browns with five catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns in Week 9 on nine targets, which led the team. He now has at least seven Fantasy points in every game where he's gotten at least six targets, which has happened five times. ... Manningham (ACL) was activated this week, and he could play in Week 10 against Carolina. He's worth a flier in deeper leagues. And we hope Crabtree (Achilles) will return in Week 11 at New Orleans or Week 12 at Washington. He could be a difference maker down the stretch. ... Baldwin is worth speculating on after his performance against Tampa Bay with six catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. This was the first game without Sidney Rice (ACL), but Percy Harvin (hip) could return this week, which would limit Baldwin's long-term value. ... Put Royal back on your radar after he scored in consecutive games at Washington with four catches for 56 yards on six targets. In a potential shootout against Denver in Week 10, the Chargers might need Royal to have a big game. ... Cotchery is worth looking at in deeper leagues after he scored three touchdowns in Week 9 at New England with seven catches for 96 yards on eight targets. The problem with Cotchery is even though he's scored in three games this season he's also been at five Fantasy points or less in five other outings. ... Don't bother with Bess even after his two-touchdown game against Baltimore. He had four targets, and his 14 Fantasy points was the first time he had more than six this season.
Buccaneers (34 percent)
Maybe add: Jared Cook , Rams (61 percent), Garrett Graham , Texans (37 percent), Brent Celek , Eagles (27 percent), Andrew Quarless , Packers (10 percent), Zach Ertz , Eagles (3 percent), Dennis Pitta , Ravens (2 percent)
Desperation add: Joel Dreessen , Broncos (1 percent), Tom Crabtree , Buccaneers (0 percent), Gary Barnidge , Browns (0 percent), John Carlson , Vikings (0 percent)
The order for tight ends to add this week is Wright, Graham, Ertz, Quarless, Celek, Cook and Pitta. ... Wright has been awesome since getting an extended look in Week 4. He has at least nine Fantasy points in three of his past four games, including touchdowns in consecutive outings against Carolina and Seattle. He has a great matchup in Week 10 against Miami since the Dolphins have allowed six touchdowns to opposing tight ends this year. ... Graham hasn't lived up to expectations in replacing the injured Owen Daniels (leg), but he did have four catches for 46 yards with Keenum in Week 9 against the Colts on six targets. He also has a great matchup at Arizona since the Cardinals have allowed eight touchdowns to tight ends this season. ... Ertz and Celek both scored at Oakland in Week 9 with at least eight Fantasy points. Ertz has more value than Celek since he has 21 targets over the past four weeks compared to 12 for Celek. ... Quarless remains a low-end Fantasy option with Jermichael Finley (neck) out, but he was a favorite target for Wallace when he took over for Rodgers on Monday night. Quarless had five catches for 34 yards on seven targets, which was second only to Jordy Nelson and his nine targets. ... Cook scored against his former team in Week 9 with three catches for 36 yards against the Titans, but it was his first touchdown since Week 1. He's only worth consideration in deeper leagues. ... Pitta (hip) could return in November, and in deeper leagues he might be worth stashing for a playoff run.
