The Dolphins signed former first-round selection Josh Freeman to a one-year contract, according to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman.

Freeman was drafted with the 17th overall pick in 2009 by the Buccaneers. Once a promising young quarterback, Freeman's career fell off after throwing a combined 39 interceptions in 2011 and 2012.

Freeman was benched by the Bucs in 2013 and traded to the Vikings. He played one game for the Vikings, going 20-53 for 190 yards and an interception in a 23-7 loss to the Giants. That's the last time he's played in an NFL game.

Freeman did not play during the 2014 season.
