Head coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Vannett (ankle) will not play in Sunday's game against Miami, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
With Jimmy Graham (knee) potentially unavailable, Vannett had a shot to start his career as Seattle's No. 2 tight end. It now seems Graham will likely be back before Vannett, though the former Saint is also looking awfully shaky for Week 1. Luke Willson is the probable Week 1 starter.
