Gerhart was released by the Jaguars on Tuesday, Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union reports. With the Jaguars expected to sign Chris Ivory on Wednesday at the start of free agency, they've elected to release Gerhart in the corresponding move. Gerhart saw action in just seven games last season before being placed on injured reserve with a groin injury, finishing with 44 yards on 20 carries. He'll be an unrestricted free agent when free agency begins Wednesday.
Gerhart (groin) will be placed on injured reserve Saturday, ending his season, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports. The news is not yet official, but the report makes sense. Gerhart can now be let go in all single-season formats. T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson remain No. 1 and No. 2 on the Jaguars depth chart at running back, respectively.
Gerhart (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans. Gerhart will sit this one out after not practicing all week, which sets the stage for T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson to head the Jaguars' Week 13 backfield.
Gerhart (groin) missed practice again Thursday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports. As long as T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson remain healthy, Gerhart's status is of more import to the Jags' backfield depth than it is to fantasy owners.
Gerhart (groin) did not practice Wednesday, John Oehser of jaguars.com reports. Gerhart was able to play last Sunday against the Chargers despite being listed on the injury report with a nagging groin injury, so it seems likely Wednesday's practice status is merely for precautionary reasons. That being said, Gerhart is firmly entrenched as the No. 3 running back for the Jaguars and likely won't see many opportunities in the backfield so long as T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson remain healthy.
