The Lions announced several practice squad roster moves on Monday, according to the Detroit Free Press. The team signed the following players to the practice squad: Tight end Jordan Thompson, cornerback Trevin Wade and defensive tackle Roy Philon.
The Saints have knocked their roster down to 53 by waiving a number of players Saturday. Among the offense players let go are center Matt Armstrong, wide receivers Seantavius Jones , Brandon Coleman and Charles Hawkins, tight end Nic Jacobs, guards Jason Weaver and Marcel Jones, tackles Tavon Rooks and Thomas Welch and running backs Greg Jones and Derrick Strozier. The defenders cut loose are cornerbacks Trevin Wade, Terrence Frederick and Derrius Brooks, linebackers Keyunta Dawson and Todd Davis, tackle Lawrence Virgil, safety Pierre Warren. Placekickers Shayne Graham and Derek Dimke are also out.
The Saints signed exclusive rights free agent Trevin Wade to a one-year, $570,000 contract according to NFL writer Brian McIntyre.
Safety Rafael Bush (ankle), tight end Josh Hill (hamstring) and linebacker Keyunta Dawson (calf) are the lone injured players on the inactive list released Sunday by the Saints. The healthy inactives are quarterback Ryan Griffin, wideout Nick Toon, cornerback Trevin Wade and defensive end Tyrunn Walker.
