The Pittsburgh Steelers are expecting to place center Maurkice Pouncey on the injured reserve/designated to return list, which would keep him sidelined for the first eight games of the season, according to the team's official website.
Pouncey is dealing with a broken fibula, which he suffered during a recent preseason game.
Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey was activated from the PUP list by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, and the linchpin of the team's offensive line was in full pads for practice, per the team.
Pouncey was dealing with a mild foot sprain, and the team figured it was only a matter of time before he came off the PUP list.
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Saturday they have placed five players on the Physcially Unable to Perform (PUP) list to coincide with the start of training camp, including Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey and tackle Mike Adams .
Pouncey is out of action with what has been described as a "very minor" sprained right foot, and will miss the first couple of days of camp. Adams, who underwent a back procedure on July 20, will miss about four weeks of action.
The other players on the PUP list are backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, cornerback Senquez Golson and linebacker Shawn Lemon.
