The Rams have issued a series of cuts to reach the mandated roster of limit of 53 for the regular season. Those on the offensive side of the ball are wide receivers Emory Blake, Austin Franklin and Justin Veltung, linemen Sean Hooey, Mitchell Van Dyk, Travis Bond and Brandon Washington, quarterback Garrett Gilbert and tight end Brad Smelley. Defenders now gone are linemen Kourtnei Brown, Matt Conrath and Deantre Harlan, defensive backs Christian Bryant, Darren Woodard, Avery Cunningham and Greg Reid and linebackers Aaron Hill, Etienne Sabino, Phillip Seward and Lawrence Wilson. The Rams also placed wideout Stedman Bailey on the reserved/suspended list.
The Rams have continued getting their roster pared down to 53 by releasing cornerback Greg Reid and linebacker Lawrence Wilson. Wilson had been playing for his third team, but has yet to take a snap in the NFL.
The Bears signed 11 players to reserve/future contracts: long snapper Brandon Hartson, cornerbacks C.J. Wilson and Demontre Hurst, tight ends Fendi Onobun and Zach Miller, quarterback Jerrod Johnson, linebacker Lawrence Wilson, offensive tackle Rogers Gaines, safety Sean Cattouse, wideout Terrence Toliver and defensive tackle Tracy Robertson.
The Saints cut the following players on Friday: DE Braylon Broughton, LB Kadarron Anderson, LB Ezra Butler, WR Greg Camarillo, QB Sean Canfield, DE Alex Daniels, TE Michael Higgins, CB Nick Hixson, DB Jerico Nelson, TE Derek Schouman, WR Andy Tanner and LB Lawrence Wilson.
