The Bengals have released quarterback Tyler Wilson, linebacker Brandon Joiner and defensive tackle LaKendrick Ross . Wilson has yet to take a snap in the NFL despite having landed on the rosters of three different teams.
The following players aren't expected to play for the Bengals Sunday night against Arizona, the team announced: Quarterback AJ McCarron, quarterback Tyler Wilson, wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher, cornerback Darqueze Dennard, running back Rex Burkhead, linebacker J.K. Schaffer, offensive lineman Andre Smith, tight end Tyler Eifert, wide receiver Marvin Jones and cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks.
The Bengals signed free agent quarterback Tyler Wilson Saturday, shortly after he was waived by the Titans. Wilson joins the Bengals with backup Jason Campbell expected to be sidelined for a few weeks with a bruise on his throwing arm. He will battled in the preseason for a spot on the team.
The Titans signed tight end Chase Coffman and guard Lanier Coleman. They also waived quarterback Tyler Wilson and put tight end Dorin Dickerson (undisclosed) on injured reserve.
The Titans will open the season with Jake Locker as the starting quarterback and Charlie Whitehurst as the backup, but there is a battle for the No. 3 job, reports the Tennessean. Zach Mettenberger vs. Tyler Wilson is the competition. Mettenberger, a sixth-round pick this year, is the favorite to be the No. 3. He has a strong arm and a ton of potential. Wilson is no slouch, but he has a lot to prove after the team drafted Mettenberger.
