Edelman hauled in five of 13 targets for 87 yards, misfired on his sole pass attempt, and gained 40 yards on three punt returns in the Patriots' 34-28 Super Bowl LI overtime victory over the Falcons. Edelman's game was a mixed bag, as he was unable to connect with Tom Brady as efficiently as usual and had multiple drops throughout the game. Edelman was also the target on a Brady overthrow with 1:43 remaining in the second quarter and the Patriots trying to secure points before halftime. However, the dynamic veteran still checked in second in targets overall and made one of the most spectacular catches in Super Bowl history on New England's game-tying drive, securing a tipped ball off the leg of the Falcons' Robert Alford and managing to prevent it from hitting the ground before the gained full control of it. The reception put the Patriots in Atlanta territory at the 41-yard line, and James White scored a one-yard touchdown four plays later t set up the game-tying two-point conversion by Danny Amendola. Edelman also made a 15-yard reception down to the Falcons' 25-yard line in the game-winning drive in overtime, capping off a 2016 season in which he tallied a career-best 1,106 receiving yards.
Edelman hauled in eight of 13 targets for 137 yards in Saturday's 34-16 divisional-round victory over the Texans. He also gained 26 yards on four punt returns. Edelman notched a six-yard catch on New England's first offensive play, his 69th postseason reception, which tied him with Wes Welker in franchise history. However, he was shut out from that point forward until hauling in a 48-yard bomb from Tom Brady on the Patriots' final possession before halftime. That seemed to reignite their prolific connection, as the future Hall of Fame quarterback proceeded to find Edelman six more times for 83 yards in the second half. Danny Amendola's return to the lineup from a high-ankle sprain did nothing to dilute Edelman's involvement, as his 13 targets were the most he'd seen since Week 11 against the 49ers. The eight-year veteran will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in next Sunday's conference championship showdown against either the Chiefs or Steelers.
Edelman hauled in eight of 13 targets for 151 yards and a TD in Sunday's 35-14 win over the Dolphins. Edelman and the Patriots will now have a bye week before embarking on their postseason run and with the wideout having appeared to make it through Week 17 unscathed, he'll maintain strong value pick in fantasy playoff leagues and competitions.
Edelman caught five of his eight targets for 89 yards in Saturday's 41-3 win over the Jets. Per ESPN's Mike Reiss, Edelman logged 36 snaps Saturday, while fellow wideout Chris Hogan was on the field for 64 snaps and Malcolm Mitchell was out there for 59. Edelman has been an injury report regular this season and if the Patriots head into Week 17 with the No. 1 seed in the AFC locked up -- which they would, in the event of an Oakland loss -- Edelman could potentially be limited or rested next weekend.
Edelman caught six of 12 targets for 75 yards in Sunday's 16-3 win at Denver. Edelman didn't have a catch in the first quarter, but had three receptions for 44 yards on New England's first drive of the second period. Considering Tom Brady completed just 16 of 32 passes for 188 yards Sunday, Edelman actually had a strong fantasy game. The veteran wideout has been somewhat inefficient over the last two weeks, but is still seeing tons of volume in general, with double-digit targets in each of the last five games. He'll take on the Jets in Week 16.
