The New England Patriots waived two injured players on Monday, putting the team four players below the 90-man roster limit, per NESN.
Offensive lineman Kevin Hughes was waived/injured after suffering a shoulder injury in Saturday's workout. If Hughes isn't claimed by a team on Tuesday, he'll be placed on injured reserve for the Patriots.
Defensive tackle Vince Taylor was waived after a failed physical.
The Carolina Panthers parted ways with 21 players Saturday.
The club cut LB Denicos Allen , CB Carrington Byndom , G Derek Dennis , CB James Dockery , LB Adarius Glanton , WR Tavarres King , S Robert Lester , WR Marcus Lucas , T Andrew McDonald , S Tom Nelson , DT Drake Nevis , RB Darrin Reaves , DT Micanor Regis , LB D.J. Smith , CB Josh Thomas , DT Casey Walker , FB Michael Zordich , T Kevin Hughes , TE Mike McNeill , S Anderson Russell and G Chris Scott .
Quarterback Vince Young , running back Alex Green and tight end D.J. Williams were among the veterans cut by the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. But the team waived many more in getting down to the mandated 53.
The following are also gone: fullback Jonathan Amosa , safeties Chaz Powell and David Fulton , centers Patrick Lewis and Garth Gerhart , tackle Kevin Hughes , wide receivers Miles White, Tyrone Walker and Charles Johnson , linebackers Donte Savage , Dezman Moses and Terrell Manning , cornerbacks Brandon Smith , James Nixon and Loyce Means , defensive tackle Jordan Miller , and tight ends Jake Stoneburner and Matthew Mulligan .
The Green Bay Packers have released the following players from their roster in an effort to get down to 53 players: OL Garth Gerhart , OL Kevin Hughes , S David Fulton , CB Loyce Means , OT Andrew Datko , FB Jonathan Amosa , WR Ty Walker and LB Donte Savage .
These players may or may not get resigned to the team's practice squad. They could also end up on another NFL roster down the line.
