Norwood was signed to a reserve/future contract by the Giants, Dan Duggan of NJ.com reports. Norwood has spent the past couple months as a member of the Giants' practice squad, and he'll have an opportunity to make the team's active roster throughout the upcoming offseason. After being drafted by the Seahawks in 2014, Norwood has recorded just nine receptions for 102 yards on 11 targets in regular season action since.
Norwood (hip) was released from the Panthers' injured reserve list on Friday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Norwood, a 2014 fourth-round selection by the Seahawks, has been nursing a hip pointer since Carolina's fourth preseason contest. He's now eligible to sign elsewhere.
Norwood, who was carted off the field Thursday, has a hip pointer, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports. It looks as if the injury isn't too severe for Norwood despite initial concerns. There is currently no timetable for the wide out's return, but with the young receiver still fighting for a spot on Carolina's final roster, he'll be looking to get back on the field as soon as possible.
Norwood left Thursday's tilt due to a hip injury and he will not return, Bryan Strickland of CarolinaPanthers.com reports. It's unclear how severe Norwood's injury is but it isn't a good sign for the young wideout. In a battle for the final receiver slot on the Panther's roster, Norwood's chances won't be helped at all by him missing time in the beginning of the year due to injury.
Norwood caught three passes (on four targets) for 31 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over the Titans. Norwood found the end zone with an eight-yard touchdown catch from backup quarterback Derek Anderson toward the end of the third quarter Saturday. The 2014 fourth round pick was traded to the Panthers from the Seahawks just under a year ago and will hope to make Carolina's roster as a depth wideout this year.
