Adams didn't record any stats in the season finale against the Saints. All things considered, it wasn't a bad 2015 season for Adams, who was claimed by the Falcons off waivers in September. He finished the season with 38 total tackles, a forced fumble, an interception and four passes defensed. He'll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but he's probably performed well enough to garner another look from the Falcons or another team in need of secondary depth.
The Falcons signed a couple of players with hopes of bolstering a defense that ranked dead last in the NFL a season ago. Atlanta announced that it has signed contracts with defensive end Adrian Clayborn and cornerback Phillip Adams. Clayborn's 2014 season ended early due to a biceps injury. Adams, a journeyman entering his sixth NFL season, appeared in 12 games for the Jets in 2014 and totaled 24 tackles and one interception. Clayborn played the entire 2013 season and recorded 64 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks.
The Jets enter Week 9 against the Chiefs relatively healthy. Out of 15 players listed on the injury report, Darrin Walls (calf, knee) was ruled doubtful for Sunday.Geno Smith (shoulder) was labeled questionable. The other 13 players were deemed probable: Oday Aboushi (shoulder), Phillip Adams (groin), Antwan Barnes (knee), Willie Colon (knee), Jeff Cumberland (shoulder, finger), Demario Davis (finger), Eric Decker (hamstring), David Harris (shoulder), Chris Johnson (ankle), Jeremy Kerley (illness), Nick Mangold (shoulder), Trevor Reilly (knee) and Greg Salas (wrist, ankle).
All ten Jets players listed as probable on the team's final injury report are active for Sunday's Week 8 matchup with the Bills, including wide receiver Eric Decker (hamstring) and Chris Johnson (ankle). Though the roster is stocked with players dealing with bumps and bruises, the Jets are relatively healthy for the intradivision battle. Also active Sunday are running back Bilal Powell (foot), center Nick Mangold (shoulder), guards Willie Colon (knee) and Oday Aboushi (shoulder), linebackers David Harris (shoulder) and Antwan Barnes (knee) and cornerbacks Phillip Adams (groin) and Darrin Walls (knee).
