Chargers linebacker Tourek Williams, who left Thursday's preseason game with an injury and was walking on crutches afterward, suffered a broken foot and will need surgery, according to NFL.com. By most accounts, Williams was one of the team's most improved players in training camp, so the injury is a big blow to the third-year pro, who had registered 31 tackles and one sack so far in the NFL.
The Chargers declared safety Jahleel Addae (hamstring), linebacker Tourek Williams, corner Chris Davis, wideout Dontrelle Inman, defensive tackle Ricardo Mathews, running back Branden Oliver and defensive tackle Ryan Carrethers inactive for Monday night's game at Arizona.
Chargers LB Donald Butler, OL Chad Rinehart, P Mike Scifres and LB Tourek Williams are active Week 10 against the Broncos. All four players were listed as probable on the team's injury report. Scifres should be able to handle normal punting duties.
The Chargers have eight players on their Friday injury report, but only offensive lineman Mike Remmers (ankle) has been ruled out of the game Sunday against Denver. And only defensive end Lawrence Guy (toe), linebacker Jarret Johnson (hamstring) and wideout Eddie Royal (toe) are questionable. The rest are probable. They are linebacker Donald Butler (groin), guard Chad Rinehart (toe), punter Mike Scifres (knee) and linebacker Tourek Williams (thumb).
