Reid (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Eric Williams of ESPN.com reports. The news comes as no surprise after the defensive tackle tore his ACL in Sunday's win over the Falcons. Expect Damion Square and Tenny Palepoi to see an increased workload with Reid out the remainder of the season. The Chargers also brought back Pierre Desir from the IR to take over Reid's roster spot.
Reid will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury in Sunday's win over the Falcons, Ricky Henne of Chargers.com reports. This is obviously a tough break for the 24-year-old Princeton product. There is currently no time table for his recovery, but he will be unable to return this season. Damion Square and Tenny Palepoi will presumably see an increased workload with Reid sidelined.
Reid sustained a knee injury Sunday in Atlanta and will not return. The details of Reid's injury are yet to be reported. Damion Square will likely see additional playing time rotating in behind Corey Liuget.
Lions defensive tackle Caraun Reid (ankle) practiced for the first time since Aug. 20, Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News reports. Reid was atop the Lions' depth chart prior to being injured in Detroit's preseason game against Washington. Though he will likely return to the team in a supporting role behind Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker, backup defensive tackles Jermelle Cudjo and Gabe Wright combined for 39 defensive snaps in Week 1 - a total Reid may take the bulk of once he returns to full health.
The Lions lost two linemen in Thursday's preseason game. Offensive lineman Larry Warford, expected to be the starting right guard, and Caraun Reid, battling for playing time at defensive tackle, both went down with ankle injuries. Jim Caldwell updated their condition on Friday. "It's going to be a little while but I'm not certain," Caldwell said per ESPN. "I couldn't give you an exact time frame with any of those guys."
