The Lions placed center Darren Keyton on injured reserve Tuesday due to a knee injury. The team also released tight end David Ausberry from injured reserve.
The Lions placed tight end David Ausberry on injured reserve Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury. He had missed the last week of practice. Ausberry was vying for the role of third-string tight end behind Brandon Pettigrew and Eric Ebron. To take his spot on the roster, the Lions signed second-year cornerback Jocquel Skinner.
The Lions have gained depth at tight end with the signing of David Ausberry. Ausberry spent four seasons with the Raiders, though he missed all of 2013 with a shoulder injury and lost much of last year with a foot issue. He has appeared in 34 games with 11 catches for 120 yards. He also earned significant time on special teams.
The Raiders have made a flurry of moves, including the placing of tight end David Ausberry on the reserve/injured list with a foot injury sustained on Oct. 19. His place on the roster will be taken by defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin, who was promoted from the practice squad. Ausberry finishes the year with just two catches for 14 yards in six games. Cornerback Jansen Watson, who was cut by Oakland before the season, has been added to the practice squad.
The Raiders have listed the following players as inactive for Thursday night's matchup with the Chiefs: cornerbacks Carlos Rogers (knee) and T.J. Carrie (ankle), safety Jonathan Dowling (back), tight end David Ausberry (foot), guards Gabe Jackson (knee) and Tony Bergstrom and quarterback Matt McGloin. Jackson was listed as questionable to play in the Week 12 divisional battle, while Rogers, Carrie, Dowling and Ausberry had previously been ruled out. The 0-10 Raiders are looking to end a 16-game losing streak Thursday.
