The Friday injury report issued by the Bears for their Week 6 game at Atlanta is headlined by the thumbs-down given to linebackers Lance Briggs (ribs) and Shea McClellin (hand). But they are not the only Chicago players ruled out.
The questionables are linebacker Jonathan Bostic (back) and cornerback Sherrick McManis (quad). Safety Chris Conte (concussion), offensive lineman Roberto Garza (ankle), nose tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (concussion) and linebacker D.J. Williams (neck) are all probable.
The team waived three players earlier in the day as a precursor to the promotions. The Bears are dealing with injuries to three receivers and two interior linemen, precipitating the need for depth at the positions.
The Bears re-signed long snapper Jeremy Cain and also filled their 10-man practice squad, signing receivers Josh Bellamy and Rashad Ross, center Taylor Boggs, defensive tackles Brandon Dunn and Roy Philon, cornerbacks Isaiah Frey, Al Louis-Jean and Terrance Mitchell, guard Ryan Groy and linebacker DeDe Lattimore.
The Bears trimmed down their roster to 53 on Saturday, cutting the following players: WR Armanti Edwards, RB Jordan Lynch, TE Jeron Mastrud, OL Dennis Roland, OL Robert Turner, WR Josh Bellamy, C Taylor Boggs, DT Brandon Dunn, LB Jerry Franklin, G Ryan Groy, LB DeDe Lattimore, CB Al Louis-Jean, WR Dale Moss, DT Lee Pegues, DT Tracy Robertson, S Marcus Trice, WR Chris Williams, CB C.J. Wilson, OT Eben Britton, CB Kelvin Hayden, DE Austen Lane and S M.D. Jennings.
