The NFL reinstated Berry from suspension Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. • Colts' DeForest Buckner: Gets two-year extension

Buckner and the Colts agreed to terms Monday on a two-year, $46 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Buckner penned a four-year, $84 million extension with Indianapolis back in 2020, when the team traded the No. 13 overall pick in that year's draft to the 49ers in exchange for the defensive tackle, and he now inks a substantial extension to remain with the Colts through 2026. • Colts' Ronnie Harrison: Versatile contributor in 2023

Harrison tallied 20 tackles (11 solo), 1.0 sacks, two passes defensed, two interceptions and one touchdown across seven regular-season games in 2023. Harrison spent the first 11 weeks of the 2023 season on Indianapolis' practice squad, and shortly after being called up to the active roster he was asked to switch positions to middle linebacker following the release of Shaquille Leonard. He's begun to find success as a key rotational pass rusher in Indianapolis' defensive scheme, and in 2024 Odeyingbo's numbers could uptick again if he's able to more consistently handle above 50 percent of defensive snaps.

  • Colts' Nick Cross: Impresses in Year 2

Cross racked up 39 tackles (24 solo), two pass breakups and one interception across 17 regular-season games with the Colts in 2023. Cross began his sophomore season playing mostly on special teams, but he increased his role on defense after Indianapolis' bye in Week 11, then stepped into a starting role for the final three games of the season due to an injury to Julian Blackmon (shoulder). Blackmon is now slated for free agency, so there's a possible path for Cross to take on a larger defensive role during the 2024 campaign, especially considering that he performed solidly in limited action in 2023.

Brents (hamstring) recorded 43 tackles (30 solo), six passes defended with one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across nine regular-season games with the Colts in 2023. Brents dealt with injuries during his rookie campaign, beginning with a pre-draft wrist issue. He then suffered a mid-season quad injury that forced him to miss six games, and a hamstring issue that forced him out of Indianapolis' season finale. Brents' hamstring injury doesn't appear to be something that will impact his availability for training camp, however. He's said that his focus during the offseason will be on improving his durability, per Nate Atkins of the Indianapolis Star.

  • Colts' Jaylon Jones: Exceeds expectations as rookie

Jones racked up 44 tackles (33 solo) and five passes defended across 17 regular-season appearances with Indianapolis in 2023. The 2023 seventh-round pick was thrust into a starting role early in his NFL career due to a season-ending injury to Dallis Flowers (Achilles), and by Week 8 he was handling more than 90 percent of defensive snaps. Jones played an impressive 763 defensive snaps as a rookie, and while he may not retain a full starting role for the 2024 campaign, he has certainly solidified himself as a key cog in the Colts' secondary.

Paye solidified himself as one of the Colts' more exceptional defensive players in 2023, setting a new career-best sack threshold. The 2021 first-round pick could be a candidate to reach double-digit sacks with another year in defensive coordinator Gus Bradley's scheme, as Indianapolis' defense as a whole ranked fifth in the NFL with 51 sacks in 2023.

  • Colts' Julian Blackmon: Impressive numbers in contract year

Blackmon (shoulder) racked up 88 tackles (65 solo), eight passes defensed with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries across 15 regular-seasongames with the Colts in 2023. The safety tallied career-high marks across the board in the final year of his rookie contract, emerging as one of the more dependable players in the Colts' secondary. If Indianapolis doesn't ultimately re-sign Blackmon, he won't have a shortage of interest on the free-agent market.
