Richardson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 17 tilt versus the Colts, the team's official site reports. Richardson was just claimed earlier in the week by the Jags after his release from the Steelers, with which he'd spent the entirety of the season.
The Jaguars claimed Richardson of waivers Monday. Released by the Steelers in advance of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Richardson was subject to the NFL's claiming process. With the Jaguars, he could make an impact in a backfield dealing with multiple injuries, including T.J. Yeldon, who was placed on IR on Monday due to an ankle injury.
Richardson has been released by the Steelers. Richardson has been inactive of late and with the return to health of fellow RB DeAngelo Williams, he's the odd man out heading into Week 16's action.
Richardson was signed to the Steelers' active roster Saturday, NFL.com reports. Richardson has resided on the Steelers' practice squad since being released from the team prior to Week 4. With DeAngelo Williams (knee) set to miss time, he slots in as the No. 3 running back behind Le'Veon Bell and Fitzgerald Toussaint.
Richardson could be promoted from the Steelers' practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Richardson has been stationed on Pittsburgh's practice squad since being released from the active roster following the team's Week 3 loss to the Eagles. After spending training camp with the Steelers as well, Richardson is seemingly more familiar with the offensive playbook than fellow practice squad member Karlos Williams, but it remains to be seen which player, if either, will be promoted to compensate for tailback DeAngelo Williams' (knee) absence going forward.
