Carrier caught two passes for 15 yards in Sunday's win against the Bucs. Jordan Reed returned to action and saw most of the targets at tight end. As long as Reed is healthy Carrier will be second on the depth chart and will see limited targets.
Carrier caught four passes for 39 yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets. He was second on the team in receiving yards. Carrier will continue to see playing with Jordan Reed out with a concussion and no immediate timetable to return. Carrier doesn't possess great catching ability but can be targeted occasionally.
Redskins tight end Derek Carrier is set to start Sunday against the Jets with teammate Jordan Reed (concussion) sidelined again. Carrier caught two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown on three targets in a Week 5 loss to the Falcons. He could see a few more looks this week, but he's probably no better than the third or fourth option in an unimpressive passing attack.
Carrier caught two of three targets for 27 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. Carrier started in place for Jordan Reed (concussion). He will continue to see playing time for as long as Reed is on the sideline.
Redskins tight end Jordan Reed will undergo the league's concussion protocol after suffering what is believed to be his at least his 4th concussion, the Washington Post reports. Reed's last concussion was in 2013 and forced him to miss the final six games of the season. There's no telling the severity of the concussion until he is reviewed by doctors later in the week. In addition to the concussion he is also dealing with a sprained MCL. Reed's availability for Week 5 is not looking very good. If he's unable to play Derek Carrier will start in his place.
