Carrier (knee) probably won't be ready for the start of training camp, Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports. Traded from San Francisco to Washington in exchange for a fifth-round pick before the 2015 season, Carrier caught 17 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown on 22 targets, working as either the No. 2 or 3 tight end. He then tore his ACL and MCL in mid-December, putting his 2016 availability into serious question. Even if he makes it back at some point in camp, Carrier will have to fight for a roster spot, as Washington also has Vernon Davis, Niles Paul (knee) and Logan Paulsen (toe) on the depth chart behind Jordan Reed.
Carrier (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington reports. Carrier tore his ACL and MCL this past Sunday , which forcast his placement on IR. Washington's tight-end ranks include Je'ron Hamm and Alex Smith behind clear No. 1 option Jordan Reed.
Carrier tore both his ACL and MCL during Sunday's game against the Bears and will consequently miss the remainder of this season, NFL.com reports. Carrier's 2015 campaign ends with him catching 17 passes (on 22 targets) for 141 yards and one touchdown. With him out, the Redskins may be on the market for another tight end, since besides the emergent Jordan Reed, Je'Ron Hamm is the only other player at the position on Washington's roster.
Carrier (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Bears. Carrier went down with a knee injury after hauling in his only reception of the day. He was questionable heading into the game while dealing with an ankle and Achilles injury that caused him to miss last week's game and will now return to the sideline. The Redskins are down to two tight ends on their active roster, Jordan Reed and Je'Ron Hamm.
Carrier (ankle/Achilles) is listed as active Sunday at Chicago, Liz Clarke of Washington Post reports. Posting back-to-back full practices to end the week paved the way for Carrier's return, though he'll continue to serve behind Jordan Reed in the tight-end ranks.
