The Lions have released wide receiver Skye Dawson, the Detroit News has reported. Dawson played in seven games and caught two passes for Tampa Bay in 2013, but did not see any action last year for the Lions.
The Buccaneers waived or released 12 players: receivers Tommy Streeter, Skye Dawson and Eric Page, quarterback Alex Tanney, fullback Ian Thompson, long snapper Jeremy Cain, guard R.J. Mattes, defensive end Chaz Sutton, defensive end Ryne Giddins, defensive tackle Euclid Cummings and offensive linemen Jace Daniels and Jason Foster.
The Buccaneers' list of inactives for Week 13 at Carolina includes offensive lineman Carl Nicks (foot), wide receiver Skye Dawson, running back Lonnie Pryor, defensive back Bradley McDougald, offensive lineman Patrick Omameh, defensive lineman Derek Landri and defensive lineman Steven Means. Dawson, Pryor, McDougald, Omameh, Landri and Means are all healthy scratches.
The Buccaneers didn't need much help from a myriad of skill position players to win Sunday in Detroit. They did get one catch for 3 yards from running back Brian Leonard, who added 3 yards on one carry. Wide receiver Skye Dawson contributed a yard on one rushing attempt.
The Buccaneers received some contributions from a couple of key role players during Sunday's loss to the Seahawks in Week 9.In the running game, Skye Dawson broke for a 14-yard run in the third quarter for his only touch of the day on the offensive side. He was not targeted in the passing game. Fullback Erik Lorig caught all three of his targeted passes for 14 yards in a 27-24 overtime loss.
