The Patriots have signed defensive backs Justin Green and Daxton Swanson, as well as linebacker Doentae Skinner, to their practice squad. The latter two had been with the Patriots previously.
The Cowboys got down to the 75-man roster limit Tuesday. They waived receiver Chris Boyd, punter Tom Hornsey, long snapper Casey Kreiter, defensive end Adewale Ojomo and guard Wayne Tribue, and released quarterback Caleb Hanie. Dallas waived these players with injury designations: tight end Jordan Najvar, safety Matt Johnson, cornerbacks Justin Green and Johnny Thomas, and linebacker DeVonte Holloman. Defensive end Ben Gardner was placed on IR, and defensive tackle Amobi Okoye was put on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.
The Patriots and Cowboys struck a deal Tuesday, with defensive back Justin Green heading to Dallas in exchange for defensive tackle Ben Bass. The Cowboys are shorthanded at the cornerback position after Orlando Scandrick received a four-game suspension Monday. Green, who was a rookie free agent last season, spent time on the New England practice squad as well as two games on the active roster. Bass spent all of last season on injured reserve but got into two games during his rookie season in 2012.
The Patriots listed receiver Kenbrell Thompkins (hip/concussion), guard Chris Barker, linebacker Steve Beauharnais, defensive end Jake Bequette, defensive back Justin Green, defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga and tight end D.J. Williams as inactive for the AFC Championship Game at Denver.
